To commemorate the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt, the Royal Armouries Museum exhibited a “unique collection at the Tower of London” earlier this year.
Battle of Agincourt model to find permanent home at the Royal Armouries Museum
Posted on Friday 26th February 2016The museum commissioned a large bespoke diorama of the battle, made by David Marshal, of MM Dioramas, and Perry Miniatures, but now the temporary centre-piece is to be moved from the Tower of London to a more permanent home at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
The museum will be hosting a Hundred Years War themed wargaming weekend, April 23-24, to mark the model's move up North.
Diorama builder David Marshall said: “I’ve been a wargamer from the moment I bought my first packs of Airfix soldiers from the local toy shop over 40 years ago. I still remember what they were, WW1 German infantry and American Civil War artillery.”
Communications Officer for the museum, Kirsty Rogers said: “We need you to get involved. The event will open for wargamers and the general public to enjoy. On Saturday 23, model makers David Marshall and the Perry’s will be leading a talk on how they managed the project and will be able to answer any questions.”
