WWII: German Afrika Korps surrender to Allied forces

13th May 1943

The Afrika Korps was derived and formed upon Adolf Hitler's personal choice of Erwin Rommel to its command. Following the defeat at El Alamein and the Allied invasion in Morocco and Algeria, The German Armed Forces High Command upgraded its presence in Africa, but by May the next year the last remnants of the Afrikakorps surrendered, along with all other remaining Axis forces in North Africa.

We try to bring something different to Wings and Wheels each year so along side the amazing flying display, hundreds of vintage and classic vehicles we have four life size talking and walking DALEKS.
There will be hundreds of small aircraft landing throughout the day.

Royal Event in London

Dancers, musicians, military and equestrian displays from around the world will come together for three nights in a performance to pay tribute to 60 spectacular years of Her Reign. Over 500 horses and 800 international performers will come together in this spectacular programme.

The event takes place in the private rounds of Windsor Castle during each evening of the 10th, 11th and 13th of May 2012.
