WWII: The Bismarck is spotted26th May 1941
An RAF Catalina spots the Bismarck at 1030 on 26th May. Swordfish Torpedo-bombers from the Ark Royal score hits on the Bismarck, disabling her steering gear and rendering her unmaneuverable.

Airshow in Southend-on-Sea, Essex2012 will be the 27th year that Southend-on-Sea has staged one of Europe's largest free Airshows. The two day Southend Air Festival is undoubtedly the most spectacular event in Southend's calendar. Staged against the backdrop of the Thames Estuary along almost 2 miles of seafront, aircraft displays will be featured from across the ages.
A huge range of ground entertainment back on terra firma. There will be the RAF, Army, Navy and Royal Marine Town Shows, trade stands, rides, simulators, giant inflatable's and a packed arena programme of entertainment, to keep all of the family amused all day long.
