Himmler orders construction of Auschwitz

27th April 1940

SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler orders the construction of a concentration camp in Oswiecim, Poland. Known as Auschwitz in German, the facility will play a central role in the Nazi plan to exterminate Europe's Jews.

27th & 28th April 2013 at Rufford Abbey, Nottinghamshire. EventPlan's 5th annual multi-era historical bazaar with individual re-enactor and collectors’ stalls, professional historical traders, and living history displays. A huge variety of new and pre-owned historical items will be on sale - uniforms, weaponry, equipment, antiques, model soldiers & figures, militaria, pictures & prints, postcards, books, CDs, DVDs, videos, games and the like. Very picturesque venue with excellent facilities.
Come in period kit if wished (all are welcome in kit, whether selling or visiting. As well as the stalls, enjoy Early Medieval, Medieval, Napoleonic, WWI, 1940s and 1980s living history displays, strollers and period vehicles, more welcome! And if you wish, pose for a Victorian wet glass plate photograph (a modest cost applies)! Free admission (£3 visitor car parking fee applies).
