Julius Caesar is assassinated
15th March 0044 BCThe assassination of Julius Caesar was the result of a conspiracy by forty or so Roman senators, self-styled the Liberatores, who, led by Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus, stabbed Julius Caesar to death in the Theatre of Pompey on the Ides of March (March 15) 44 B.C.
