Remagen Bridge collapses
17th March 1945The Ludendorff Bridge in Remagen, Germany collapses, ten days after its capture. The Bridge at Remagen was famously seized by the American forces in a daring coup-de-main operation which, due to German blunder and oversight, remained intact.
