Over 1,000 members of the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force were given free access to Premier League grounds over the weekend, courtesy of Tickets For Troops, highlighting the ongoing work of the Premier League and its 20 clubs in this area: over 20,000 match tickets will be given away this season as part of the initiative.
The Premier League has been involved with Tickets For Troops since the 2009/10 season. The home clubs gave up part of their ticket allocation to Tickets For Troops over the weekend, as well as donating perimeter boards and match programme space, and stadium announcements. The weekend was also highlighted by the British Forces Broadcasting Service, which features TV and radio highlights of Premier League games.
