Two former soldiers and a sports science graduate are doing the 3 Peaks Challenge in a bid to raise money and awareness for Help for Heroes.

Ewan Doc Murdock is an ex-physical training instructor with 3 Para, Daz Slater is an ex-physical training instructor with the Royal Engineers, and Josh Varty is a sports science graduate.

The trio acknowledge that many troops are giving up Christmas with their families, and are therefore doing the same and completing the challenge on Christmas Day.

The challenge takes in the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within a 24 hour time period, driving between each location. It covers 450 miles by vehicle and 26 miles of mountain running, with 10,000 feet of ascent and descent.

They hope to raise £2,000 for the charity and to raise awareness for wounded soldiers receiving treatment in the UK. For more details see the website.
