The repatriations of six soldiers killed last week in Afghanistan when their armoured Warrior vehicle was caught in an explosion will take place on Tuesday, 20 March 2012.
The six men were: one soldier from 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, Sergeant Nigel Coupe, and five soldiers from 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, Corporal Jake Hartley, Private Anthony Frampton, Private Christopher Kershaw, Private Daniel Wade, and Private Daniel Wilford.
The plane will land into RAF Brize Norton at approximately 1.30pm, with the cortege due to pass by the Memorial Garden between 4.30-5pm before reaching the John Radcliffe Hospital at around 6pm.
Norton Way will be closed from approximately 1pm, whilst Station Road, Brize Norton, will be closed for around 10 minutes once the cortege leaves Britannia Gate at RAF Brize Norton.
There will be road closures in place at the Marston Ferry Road / Cherwell Drive Junction, Marston Road / Cherwell Drive Junction, and by the mini roundabout by the entrance to the John Radcliffe Hospital. Severe delays are to be expected in this area whilst road closures are in operation.
