As we approach the centenary anniversary of the sinking of RMS Titanic, a new book from Pen and Sword Books has revealed astonishing allegations about who is to blame for the 1912 disaster.
The White Star Line boss Bruce Ismay is often painted as the biggest villain of the Titanic disaster, but Who Sank the Titanic? The Final Verdict by investigative journalist and former newspaper crime reporter Robert Strange assigns a huge chunk of the blame to the 'Greatest ever Briton' – Second World War Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill.
After a 3-year review of the case files in the British and American National Archives, Strange has written a revelational account of the events surrounding the sinking which accuses Churchill, amongst others, as 'metaphorically sinking the Titanic'.
