The engraving of the names of those killed on duty or through terrorism in 2011 will start at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on Monday, 23 April.
The engraver, Nick hindle, will start work on the Armed Forces Memorial at 9.30 am. He will first carefully trace the characters of the names to be engraved, before picking up his hammer and chisel to make the first mark in the Portland Stone.
The names of those killed will be read out and dedicated in a special service for families later in the year.
