A 1940s fundraising event being held on Sunday at the Combined Services Museum in Maldon Essex (CM9 4LQ) will raise money for the Rifles Benevolent Trust.
Author Carole McEntee-Taylor will be giving a talk and signing copies of her book The Weekend Trippers – the true story of my father in law, Rfn Ted Taylor and his part in the Defence of Calais May 1940. It is based on Ted’s diaries written at the time.
The Rifles Living History Group will be in attendance as will other re-enactors, re-enacting the Defence of Calais, and there will also be stalls selling and displaying a variety of 1940s items.
All author royalties from the eBook and print copy are going to the Rifles Benevolent Trust.
