Warfare in News

Posted on Friday 8th June

This June (Saturday 9 & Sunday 10), Wicksteed Park in Northamptonshire, founded by Charles Wicksteed in 1913, is hosting their spectacular Hope & Glory Show.

The event will include everything from WW2, Vietnam and modern day vehicles:– motorbikes, trucks, jeeps, halftrack, armoured cars and tanks. The Battle of Britain Memorial flight will take part in a fly past, as well as a beer festival with a military and 1940s themed twist. Live entertainment acts along with battle re-enactments and demonstrations will also be taking place throughout the weekend.

For the children, Wicksteed will also be holding a fire engine display, a drive of all the military vehicles around the park and mini tanks in the park. A number of stalls in Wicksteed's 1940s Grand Pavilion will be selling military and period items plus displays of military equipment and weapons.

Camping for the weekend is available on the adjacent campsite, and a 1940s style blitz ball will take place on the Saturday evening.
