A permanent memorial as a tribute to Drummer Lee Rigby is to be built in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
Drummer Rigby, of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was stabbed to death in May in Woolwich, London, near his army barracks. A military funeral for him will be held in Bury on 12 July.
Rochdale Council announced their plans to create a memorial to the Middleton soldier, with the input of his family. However there are no details yet regarding the location or style of the memorial.
A 28 year old man and a 22 year old man are accused of Rigby's murder and are due to go on trial in November.
