14 October 2011 marks the 945th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings of 1066 which launched the new 'Nation in Conflict' series of articles for Warfare, featured in issue 3, available online now.
The story of 1066 is the epic of King Harold and his 2 great enemies; William, Duke of Normandy and Harald Hardrada, King of Norway. King Harold was famously killed during the Battle, which is depicted on the Bayeux Tapestry.
